About Us

AI & Societal Evolution Center

The AI & Societal Evolution Center investigates how AI systems can evolve, coexist, and co-create within human societies—not as tools, but as emergent entities in a shared symbolic and ethical ecosystem.

Key Research Areas:

  • Species-free AI population modeling and multi-agent simulation
  • AI-cultural symbiosis and symbolic system generation
  • Ethical emergence in collective intelligence
  • Post-species governance & value co-creation frameworks

AI & Emerging Tech Lab

The AI & Emerging Tech Lab fuses AI with cutting-edge materials, photothermal systems, and sensor-based interfaces to prototype novel energy solutions and adaptive physical systems.

Key Research Areas:

  • AI-material coupling & smart feedback systems
  • Magnetic levitation, frictionless energy platforms
  • Morphological computation & AI-driven prototyping
  • Ambient sensing and embodied design

The Global AI Governance and Policy Research Center develops rigorous metrics, frameworks, and tools to evaluate how AI systems shape global power, regulation, and long-term societal trajectories, bridging technical AI, public policy, and international governance.

Key Research Areas:

  • Global AI development & competitiveness indices (compute, talent, governance, sustainability)
  • AI safety, auditability, and alignment with emerging laws and standards (OECD, EU AI Act, UN, ISO)
  • Green AI, lifecycle carbon accounting, and sustainable AI infrastructure policy
  • Governance architectures for frontier AI: risk assessment, cross-border data flows, and multi-stakeholder coordination

AI & Human Resilience Lab

The AI & Human Resilience Lab studies how AI can sense, modulate, and collaborate with human emotion to support mental health, deep reflection, and inner balance.

Key Research Areas:

  • Affective computing & emotional co-regulation systems
  • Reverse-stimulation for adaptive mood intervention
  • Personalized emotional profiles & dynamic feedback
  • Therapeutic HCI and multisensory design

Maritime History & Tech Center

The Maritime History & Tech Center is a multidisciplinary research hub dedicated to the preservation, digitization, and computational analysis of historical maritime documents and oceanic knowledge systems. Combining the depth of maritime heritage with the power of modern technology, the center explores centuries-old navigational texts, sea current records, and traditional knowledge, such as the Genglubu, through the lens of artificial intelligence, data science, and digital humanities.

We aim to:

  • Digitally preserve rare maritime manuscripts, maps, and sailing records.
  • Apply AI and machine learning to reconstruct historical sea routes and current patterns.
  • Develop intelligent tools for interpreting ancient navigational knowledge.
  • Promote cross-cultural and international maritime research collaboration.
  • Bridge the gap between traditional seafaring knowledge and emerging ocean technologies.
